GE Power Conversion and partners achieve milestones in cleaner maritime technologies for ships and ports
GE and its partners mark the success of two innovation projects helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the maritime sector through cleaner fuels and energy efficiency measures. A new, collaborative design for up to 10MW solid oxide fuel cell systems to provide electric power for large ships has the potential to reduce CO2 emissions by 47%. A digital solution aimed at energy management to help reduce emissions at ports has been tested using an emulated digital twin platform

GE Power Conversion to supply the Electrical Module for an FPSO vessel destined for one of the world’s largest deep-water energy projects
GE’s Electrical Module will be used on Petrobras' P-79 FPSO for the Búzios energy project off the coast of Brazil The agreement between GE Power Conversion and Italian oilfield contractor Saipem reinforces GE’s world-class technological and engineering capability The contract award is based in part on the success of six similar modules from GE Power Conversion installed on other Petrobras FPSOs operating in the pre-salt area.

GE Power Conversion joins forces with Ruhrpumpen to help Mexico achieve energy self-sufficiency
GE Power Conversion is proud to announce the supply of 19 electrical motors to power water-cooling tower pumps manufactured by leading pump company, Ruhrpumpen. The motors – part of GE’s optimized C7 Series MV Induction Motors – will support the build of a large refinery located in Dos Bocas, Mexico.

GE Power Conversion selected by Safran Aero Boosters to equip a new test facility in Belgium
GE Power Conversion was awarded an important contract by Safran Aero Boosters for the supply of an electrical Variable Speed Drive System (VSDS) to equip an airplane motor compressor test bench. This bench will be part of the new aerodynamics test center called BeCOVER that Safran is building close to Liege, in Belgium.

GE welcomes project award for ‘Driving the Electric Revolution’ challenge
GE and its partners secure a project award under the UK government’s Supply Chains for Net Zero initiative, part of the Driving the Electric Revolution challenge. GE Power Conversion will work on an innovative electrification solution for space-constrained, high power industrial applications. GE will work with partners Dynex Semiconductor, the University of Nottingham and the Warwick Manufacturing Group.

GE selected by BUMA to supply electrical equipment for thyssenkrupp Steel hot rolling mill
GE Power Conversion has been selected by the Austrian mechanical supplier BUMA Engineering & Anlagenbau GmbH (BUMA) for the installation of electrical equipment for a new descaling spray at thyssenkrupp Steel Europe’s hot rolling mill WBW2 in Duisburg, Germany.

Statkraft and GE join forces on new stability contract for GB grid, increasing renewables growth and supporting green recovery
Statkraft, Europe’s largest generator of renewable energy, has agreed a deal to help further decarbonize the UK’s power sector and deliver a new approach to managing the stability of the grid. Statkraft UK will install GE’s Rotating Stabiliser technology at its stability project at Keith in the northeast of Scotland.
