Powersemi air-cooled (PA)
The descriptions PA56, PA75 and PA100 represent variants of the Powersemi air-cooled converter series. These converters are forced air-cooled and fitted with press pack thyristors in disc housings. Applications are drives in the high-power range and other voltage supply systems. In detail, these are applications feeding:
- DC motors
- Synchronous motors (LCI motor, cycloconverter, current-source DC link cycloconverter)
- Asynchronous motors (cycloconverter)
The design and electrical specifications are based on our long experience with converters up to the highest power range. The Powersemi convinces through its modular design and robust technology. The converters offer a high industry standard and fully meet the requirements of operators of large industrial plants with regard to safety, serviceability and availability.
The PA56, PA75 and PA100 converter cubicles are designed in such a manner that any circuit configuration and operating mode on the basis of the three-phase bridge circuit can be implemented. The design concept considers the different requirements for converters in the high drive power range. The PA56, PA75 and PA100 units enable the implementation of unidirectional and bidirectional converters with power-symmetrical or non-symmetrical thyristor power sections.
Powersemi water-cooled (PW)
GE Power Conversion has long experience in design and manufacturing of high current stacks with diode or thyristor. Parallel connected semiconductor (Diode or Thyristor) in B6 or 1/2 B6 current circuit lead to high scalability of the converter with a current range of 12,5 kA up to 45 kA at voltages between 460V and 1360V.
The modules of the PW and the components for the power electronics used in them offer the highest industrial standard.
