Reducing OPEX through novel power station design

GE's LV5+ Solar eHouse Solution enables significant OPEX savings over lifetime with air-filterless design and main transformer sleep feature. Using an innovative design, the LV5+ Solar eHouse controls the pre- and demagnetization of the main transformer to safely connect & disconnect it every day to eliminate no-load losses during the night. The robust air cooling system with air-to-air heat exchangers, instead of filters, requires lower maintenance.

Compact power station designed to maximize lifetime value

Power transformers connected to the grid at night consume “no-load” power. These power losses add up over the lifetime of the PV plant. GE developed a technology to eliminate no-load nighttime transformer losses automatically. The novel power station design can help to reduce lifetime OPEX losses. Our pre-fabricated and pre-tested design allows for plug & play solutions and the standard 20ft container facilitates shipping logistics.
