Cylindrical pole high speed rotors are used in high speed gas and steam turbine generators which operate at 1,000rpm and above. This rotor is used in applications where a distributed winding is required. The rotor body is made from laminations with slots to take the windings. This rotor is made from a solid cylindrical forging, and machines out the pole bodies and pole tips. The field windings are edge wound copper strips with dimensionally stable insulation material bonded between the turns. The standard product platform of our cylindrical rotors can be rapidly adapted to support a variety of specific customer applications and starting methods.
