- GE has Secured 30 Electric Motors for Anadarko Petroleum Corporation
- The High Reliability Motors Will Operate in Remote Locations in West Texas and Colorado under Stringent Conditions
PARIS—March 27, 2018—GE Power (NYSE: GE) has successfully secured 30 medium-voltage (MV) induction motors recently, with a total combined power of 110,000 horsepower (HP), for five midstream compression facilities under development by Anadarko Petroleum Corporation. As a key part of a compressor package, GE’s electric induction motors will significantly reduce emissions while driving high-speed reciprocating compressors ranging from 750 to 5,000 HP under stringent outdoor conditions.
Getting the oil and natural gas resources to travel long distances needs a high amount of compression. Keeping the flow moving in the pipelines requires compression/pump stations at intervals with strong motors to bear these high-pressure rates.
